Friends of India (FIA), the Indian Students Association at Lamar University has been active for the past many years helping Indian Students and organizing many cultural Function like Diwali, Independence Day, Republic Day, Holi and Fresher’s for new students.

The purpose of the Association is to provide a chance for the Indian students at Lamar University to assemble together, to celebrate various national and cultural festivals of India, to address the needs and requirements of Indian students at Lamar University, to provide assistance to new Indian students to get settled on campus and in Beaumont.

Friends of India are actively involved in helping the Office of ISS (International Students Services) in organizing ‘pick-up & temporary accommodation’ arrangements for incoming students in the Fall and Spring semesters. The members of our organization and the Office of the ISS clearly realize the importance of this service.
